Hanne Rescue Kit

Well, I'm back to being a happy knitter. The wonderful lady in England that sold me my Hanne Kit http://stores.ebay.com/Cucumberpatch-UK_Hanne-kits_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZ2QQftidZ2QQtZkm great site at great prices. Anyway, she sent me a replacement for my lost Mermaid pattern so I've been busy finishing up the front of the body of the sweater. I was getting pretty tired of just knitting my socks but now that I only pick them up when I'm away from home that's a joy, too. Then, because I'd lost the pattern I'd also lost all the notes made on it that told me which rows to increase and decrease. Thankfully I joined the Hanne knit along and found that one of the super knitters over on that blog created a shreadsheet deliniating all the increases and decreases on a row by row basis. God Bless AMY! So, with my pattern and spreadsheet in hand I'm back to the project of my dreams. Of course the spreadsheet did point out some errors I've made in interpretation since I started - but if I ever get to Hanne Falkenberg heaven and we're all wearing our Mermaid sweaters I'll never have to wonder which one is mine since I'll know where all the mistakes are.

This morning my younger son had an orthodontist appointment so I brought the socks with me. The orthodontist didn't mention anything since I gave him the shadow knit scarf in January. The picture is in the January section. So, luckily he didn't start harrassing me for a pair of socks. He's done alright by us as it is. Both boys in braces - $$$. Then he's entered into the consortium my husband has for Padres tickets and wouldn't you know. The last time he was at a game he caught a fly ball! Now, I do not enjoy baseball but even I know this is a big deal!

I need to put together a display board about the girl we "adopted" via Compassion International www.compassion.com for our church tomorrow. Compassion Sunday was officially on April 30th but we needed a few weeks to work it into the schedule. So, not much time for knitting with all the running around.

Gorgeous weather here in San Diego this week - need to take the knitting outdoors!
